Network Backup – The First Step

The first step that is entailed while the creation of the backups is concerned with the help of the server backup is the configuration of the network backup. Before the actual optimal server backup management plan for a network in a particular data center or an enterprise begins, it is very much essential to configure the network backup. It is assumed that the backup of the workstations can be created from a single central server over the network. The backup tasks of the network are created by the system administrator of the network as such. While the backup is being created in a network the workstations or the client computers connected to the network are totally made unaware of the fact that their system is getting backed up. The backup software of the workstations or the client computers connected in the network basically manages the backup in the background and thus the users on the respective workstations are not made of aware of the fact that the data on their system is getting backed up while they are working on the computers.

A proper backup strategy needs to be created before proceeding with the backup of the computers in the network. The admin on the server needs to define a server backup which will then be used to create backups and manage the network backups and store the backups on the apt storage media. Even the configuration of the workstation needs to be done by the admin using the server backup allowing the backup of the data and files to be made on the respective workstations and computers. Basically the server backup is installed at the server machine or the machine on which the admin sits. This allows a centralized environment to be created making the server or the administrator take care of the backups that are run on the entire network. The centralized way of creating backups allow the server to properly manage the backups that are being created on the entire network. There are also other activities that are taken care of while the creation of the backups is done. The synchronization of the workstations or the remote computers or system in the network is really important and is taken care of by the server backup. The restoration or recovery is also done. Even the backing up of the database is performed along with the backing up data and files.
