If you are working on healing a broken heart divorce is the last word you want to hear. Whether your marriage is headed for divorce, you’ve just gotten a divorce, or you are both working desperately to save your marriage from divorce there are solutions to explore before turning to this last resort.

When healing a broken heart divorce can open the floodgates of pain and completely overwhelm the system. More importantly, divorce often leaves more than two people devastated as a result. The most important people in your lives will carry the pain of divorce along with them for quite a while and not just your children.

So, what are the options you should explore while healing a broken heart? Divorce should not be in the picture at this point but if it is, hopefully you can put it on hold until you’ve explored these alternatives thoroughly.

Therapy or Marriage Counseling

If you can’t both agree to go then one of you going is better than none. You might be surprised at the insights you gain for your behavior and that of your spouse as a result. More importantly you might find real help not only for your marriage but other problems you may not even realize are holding you down. There is more than just a marriage to cover when healing a broken heart. Divorce or not there are problems that need to be fixed in order for your marriage to be whole and healthy.

Communication

When couples have troubles one of the first things to go is communication. Unfortunately, it is one of the most important things in any relationship (romantic or otherwise). You can’t make the repairs that are needed for healing a broken heart-divorce, separation, distance, etc.-without talking it out and really communicating what is wrong, what is right, and where to go next. Effective communication is not an option if you hope to save your relationship and heal your heartbreak. It is a requirement.

Time Together

Another thing you need to do is spend time together. You can’t rebuild or heal together if you aren’t spending any time together. You can’t reconnect or get that spark back if you are never even in the same room together. You need more than that though. You need time away together. You need time away from kids, work, constant cell phone interruptions, and time away from the worries of home and hearth to put things into perspective.

Next, you really need to sit down and decide if your marriage is important enough to you to work to get your ex back. If you are willing to do whatever it takes to get your ex back, start with this eBook: http://magicofmakingup.com.
