Do you want to build your self confidence? If you could specify a particular way in which you want to express your confidence you would make it a lot easier on yourself. Just saying I want more self confidence is very broad and could take quite a bit of time to work through all of the specific issues that need to be dealt with.
First step is to identify the area in your life where you want to build self confidence. Be as specific as possible. For example, maybe you want to have more confidence expressing yourself to your partner. This would be something totally different than, say, having more confidence when you have to give a speech in public and you are deathly afraid of just getting in front of people and speaking.
Once you have identified the specific area in your life that you want to build confidence in, then you are ready to get to work.
Working On Your Self
Make a list of reasons why you have difficulty being confident in that particular area. If your reason is fear of rejection, then you know what rejection has to be a focal point for you. If you do not feel confident because you feel that are too skinny, too fat or too whatever, then that is what you are going to address. In other word, be specific.
Then you want to make a list of reasons why you should have more self confident by remember times of your greatest achievements. Making a list of moments when you were happiest and most confident will help you access confident feeling and help anchor in that emotion.
Receiving Confident Energy
Make a list of all the compliments people have given you over the years. Once you have them written down, read them out loud as if you were hearing them for the first time. As you read the compliments, feel that you are opening your heart and accepting those compliments with every cell in your body.
Finally you want to stand in the mirror and put a big smile on your face, force it if you have to and affirm that you are completely confident in the specific area you are working on. For example, “I feel absolutely confident when I express my ideas and opinions with my wife.” Stand up straight suck in your stomach and breathe deeply as you repeat your affirmations out loud or “out loud in your mind” at least ten times and repeat it until you feel that a significant inner emotional shift took place.
